Connect Sleuth to Claude or ChatGPT

Sleuth’s MCP connector lets your AI assistant search Sleuth’s biopharma knowledge base and build Sleuth datasets without leaving the chat.

Sign in with your Sleuth Studio account. MCP access is turned on per organization; reach out to request access for your team.

Setup

Set up the connector

The steps are the same in Claude and ChatGPT. You need a Sleuth Studio account with MCP access.

1

Open Settings, then Connectors in Claude or Apps in ChatGPT.

2

Find Sleuth and click Connect.

3

A browser window opens. Sign in with your Sleuth Studio email and password.

4

In a chat, turn Sleuth on from the tools menu.

5

Optional: in Sleuth Studio settings, turn on “Auto approve schema and plan” to go straight from question to finished dataset.

Not listed yet? In Claude, add a custom connector with the server URL. In ChatGPT, email support@sleuthinsights.com for setup help. On team and enterprise plans, an admin may need to approve it first.

Example questions

Ask the way you’d brief an analyst

Your assistant sends the question to Sleuth, follows the project while it builds, and brings back the dataset with its sources. Everything it creates also appears in your Sleuth Studio account.

Partner search

“We have a Phase 1 CD19×CD3 T-cell engager in lupus. Find and rank potential partners among the top 50 pharma, favoring B-cell programs, lupus activity and a recent Phase 1–2 deal.”

Benchmarking

“Benchmark efficacy, safety and durability for the approved and Phase 3 agents in moderate-to-severe ulcerative colitis, and flag the readouts in the next 12 months that could raise the bar.”

Primer

“Get me up to speed on CLDN18.2 before a partnering call: biology, players, clinical evidence, deals and what’s coming.”

Benchmark

With Sleuth, answers covered 63% more of the landscape

We ran five pharma BD and strategy questions through Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity, with and without the Sleuth connector. Sleuth raised entity coverage in all 15 pairs of answers: 63% on average, 40% at the median.

Fixes for common issues

Still stuck? Email support@sleuthinsights.com and we’ll help you connect. How Sleuth handles your data is covered in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Opening the URL in a browser shows “Method not allowed.”

That’s expected. The address is for Claude or ChatGPT to connect to, not for a browser.

I can sign in, but Sleuth says I don’t have access.

MCP access is turned on per organization. Email support@sleuthinsights.com and we’ll turn it on.

A request is taking a while.

Larger datasets take several minutes to build. Your assistant checks back on the project, and you can also open it in Sleuth Studio and watch it there.

My assistant answered without using Sleuth.

Check that Sleuth is turned on for that chat, or name it in your prompt (“use Sleuth to…”).

What does Sleuth receive when I use the connector?

Your questions, project names, any files you upload, and your account name and email. Sleuth returns its results to your assistant. The connector stores nothing on your device and connects only to Sleuth’s API and sign-in service. What your assistant does with the results is covered by its provider’s terms.
